About the Event

Jesus’ life illustrates the importance of meeting people as they are. His ministry and engagement with the disabled model for us how to become more aware and welcoming of the disabled. This conference, Jesus, The Church and Disability, is a joint endeavor between The Story Program, the School of Theology and Ministry, and the College of Education. During the conference, you will hear from experts in theology, ministry, and education and learn practical steps to help your church become a place where all, abled and disabled, are truly welcome. Topics include:


  • Biblical and Theological Foundations of Disability

  • Autism, Physical, and Mental Disabilities

  • Alzheimer's and Age-Related Challenges


The conference concludes with a Community Worship Service. It is an opportunity for you and your family to worship together and practice what we've learned. Register below to save your seat! Registration is free and includes lunch on Saturday, a gift book, and a notebook.
